Good taste has a long tradition at Hertz&Selck.

Hertz&Selck can look back on over 80 years of successful business history. With the formation of a joint company in Hamburg in 1931, the businessmen Alfred Hertz and Carl Selck laid the foundations for today’s enterprise of Hertz&Selck. Since then the Hanseatic City, Germany’s most significant seaport and gateway to the world, has remained its business centre and headquarters.

While the two Hamburg businessmen initially concentrated on selling essential oils, fruit concentrates and dried fruit for the food industry, flavours for tobacco products soon became increasingly important. The young company therefore focused its business activity more and more on the development of flavours for the tobacco industry and thereby set the decisive course for future economic success. Today Hertz&Selck is almost exclusively focused on this field and as a tobacco specialist is among the best-known producers of premium flavours worldwide.
